QED – Quizzing Entirely for Doctors.
What is QED
QED is a quiz based on medicine for doctors of Mumbai.
The quiz is open to all practitioners of modern medicine (M.B.B.S & above).
Each team will comprise of 2 members for the 1st & 2nd eliminations with a 3rd member co-opted if the team reaches the semi-finals.
The 1st Eliminations will be held on Sunday 5th October 2014.
The number of participating teams is expected to be 200 (comprising of 400 doctors).
Approximately 100 teams will qualify for the 2nd eliminations.
The 2nd eliminations will be held on Sunday 12th October 2014.
The semi-finals (8 teams – now of 3 members each) and the finals (4 teams) will be held on Sunday 19th October 2014.
Two types of questions will be asked in QED –
- Questions based on medical knowledge
e.g. Which bone is most susceptible to avascular necrosis?
2. Questions based on general knowledge but related to medicine (what we call juxta-medical questions)
e.g. Which bone of Sage Dadichi was used by Shakuni to make the dice used in Mahabharata?
The answer to both of the above questions is ‘Femur’.
These questions may be asked in a variety of formats – audio, visual, audio-visual; true or false, multiple choice questions etc.
